Life of Carrie
Hi Everyone, welcome to my blog, nothing extraordinary just a rambling of thoughts and pictures.

Went to CT today for Ashley Pyle's graduation party. Congrats Ashley on your acheivement. I'm happy for you and know how much of a relief it must be to be done! Since I also studied biology in college I know that a science major is no cakewalk (many people switch once they find out it is extra work).
Kathy was there with Lance and I couldn't resist posting this cute photo of them.
I was looking at my blog this morning and decided something was missing. Reading thru these entries it seems I mostly post photos of my family, friends, and my hiking activities. This is most of what I do outside of work with the exception of Dancing. I'm going to add some words and info about my job soon but in case some out there reading this don't know.. I'm a ballroom dancer. Here are a few photos of me doing one of my favorite activities. I've been training in ballroom since 2000 and just love it. This is me dancing with Bill my current standard partner. The others, I am dancing with Boris.

We hiked Mt Washington last weekend. We drove up to Conway on saturday morning to hang with the Sire's and we planned on doing an overnight in Evans Notch Maine on Sunday. After playing catch with Sam and Theresa and going for a mountian bike ride we thought that perhaps the overnight was not the best idea. The last weeks of May/Beginning of June are a difficult time for the north country folk because of the Black Fly Hatch. These are nasty little buggers that cluster around your head and proceed to drive you to the brink of insanity. Anyway, we decided that the overnight might not be that fun because we would be stuck in the tent once sundown came.. so we did Washington instead. The hike was great. From the cog railway station the trip up is ~5 miles and stops at Lakes of the Clouds Hut on the way. The way down (there's a loop) skirts around the far side of Mt Clay and heads down the ridge and back to the lowland. We had great weather for this hike... about the only thing that would have made it better was having a little sunscreen. We didn't have any and the next day I had blisters on my EYELIDS from the bright sun. I guess I didn't think about how we would be above treeline for several hours, in the strongest sun of the day (1-3), and very close to the summer solstace (strongest sun of the year). Oh well, a little sunburn is worth the great day we had.

Yoga On the mountain. The peaks in the background are the New Hampshire Northern Presidentials. From left to right starting from right behind my head.. Mt Jefferson, Mt Adams, and Mt Madison. In my humble opinion the view from the AT here looking into the great gulf is one of the most spectacular in the Whites.
