Long Pond hike

After driving back from Bristol on Sunday, we went for a short early evening hike to Long Pond located in the Fells.

Here is Long Pond. There wasn't any wind so the water was like a mirror. Sorry for the quality of the picture, it was taken with an iPhone. The sky is overexposed in the picture, but you can see how blue it was in the reflection in the water.

Hiking with a 20 month old takes a bit longer than normal. Abby finds the rocks, sticks and leaves to be very interesting. Abby especially likes to pick up rocks.

Stop! Thief!

A little Medford punk tried to steal our car (and Carrie's hat). But, her legs were too short to reach the pedals so she didn't succeed!

Abby and Ivy

Since you can't take a 1.5 year old on a 6 mile hike (well you can but it probably wouldn't be that fun!) Grammie Jeannie, Pepe and Sandra watched Abby and Ivy. Looks like they had a lot of fun going to an art festival in Hollis NH and chilling out in Chelmsford. I think having 2 little girls was quite a switch from Grammie's usual babysitting gig in Bristol CT!

Some latest Abby news: She learned one of my favorite words: Dance
I was listening to Pink Floyd 'The Wall" in the car tonight and I turned it up so I could sing in the car. Abby raised up her hands and started saying.. Dance, Dance! Priceless....

Fall Weekend in Conway

We went up to Conway this weekend to visit Earl, Jeff and Sam and take a day hike. It was a chilly fall weekend but nice to get out away from the city for a bit. Sam had a football game on saturday so we went and watched him first. He's a pretty good linebacker & really smacks into the other players on the offensive line. Got to see him make a killer tackle on defense too. Sadly it didn't make too much difference because the team Green ended up loosing 12-6 :(.

Who knew Sam would turn into such a Jock?

Hiking up Mt Kearsage. 6.2 miles round trip with a 360 view at the top. Lots of leaf peepers out there too as the summit was full of folks.

Fall weekend in Chelmsford

We are in Chelmsford this weekend visiting. Auntie Kathy is here too with the boys.
More later... but here's a few photos I had to post.

Like mother like daughter... Abby just amazes me lately with all of her talking. Some of her latest words are, "silly, wagon, i sit, ice cream, move it, chips, cookie & pretzel"

All 3 of the kids out for a hike. Such a beautiful fall day :)

Hiking into the field from the woods.

"Ummmph! Lance you are heavy!"

The petting farm was a big hit with all 3 kids.

Kathy is 37

A few days late, but wanted to wish my sister a happy birthday!
She's 27, um actually I mean 37 (tee hee). Here we are circa ~19-eighty something... ;)
On my left is one of my many 'other' sisters Kathy Gavin.

Pastry & Pigtails

Just had to post it, because I think she looks adorable.

Here is Abby sitting at Au Bon Pain eating pastry. Miracles never cease, she left this hairdo in for at least 2 hours! Don't you love it?

The Great Pumpkin Patch

This morning while Tighe stayed home recovering from his cold, Abby, Grammie Jeannie and I all went for a walk at Drew's Farm in Westford. They take you on a little tractor ride through the orchards & pumpkin patches and then let you walk around the hills. It was an amazingly beautiful fall day, sunny, crisp & colorful. Of course my mom was documenting the occasion and there are a ton of cute photographs. Here are a select few.

Abby: "I sit" (on a pumpkin)

Abby was a little curious about the huge tractor wheels.

Weeeee
She looks poised for a running start ;)

Halloween Shopping

I also went to the garment district today to check out some stuff for halloween. They have quite the selection there. What do you think of one of these for Abby?

I gotta say I'm a little partial to the ballerina costume but the dorky star wars outfits have their charm too ;)
