1 year checkup

Abby had her one year check up yesterday.

Stats:
Height: 28inches (grew 2in)
Weight: 20lbs 8oz
50% for both

I'd put up the picture I took but she is naked in it!

Lots of shots at this appointment so that was no fun, she had a fingerstick too. The nurse was mean and stuck one of the fingers Abby sucks on. Poor baby.... I was supposed to go get more blood drawn for her lead test but I couldn't take any more and decided to save that for the next appointment.
Stuff like this is probably harder on mom than on baby!

Blowfish Lance

I was trolling through the party photos and couldn't help laughing out loud at this one.

Lance was really getting all puffed up and ready to help Abby blow out that ONE candle. This is one of those priceless moments captured on film, hilarious!

Abby's First Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Abby's first birthday and Ivy's second today. It was a great party, and Abby had a blast! It was pretty much non -stop activity all day long. I think at one point we had 10 toddlers in the house at the same time - craziness!

1 Year

Abby is 1 today!

Size Marker Series - 1 year

Abby is almost 1 year old now. Time flies when you are chasing a baby I think. Here are a few photos of Abby with that stripey doll that I have been using as a size marker.

AGBT Conference

Just got back from 5 sunny days in Marco Island, Florida for the Advances in Genome Biology and Technology Conference. It was a nice break from the day to day here at Broad. The conference talks were great and the poster that we presented was well received.

Drummer Abby

Abby is such an advanced baby (at least we think so)! In this video you will see that she is able to walk and play a toy Chinese spinning drum at the same time! She's our little multi-tasker ;-)

New Floor

A few weeks ago when the toilet leaked I finally got so frustrated by the state of the downstairs bathroom that I started ripping up the floor. This left the bathroom floor as it appears in the third photo below. Pepe came over today to help us put in some new tile and it's pretty much done now. All we have to do tomorrow is grout it.

Here's the result: I kind of like how loud and graphic it is, but I have to say it does remind me a little bit of walking into an Italian restaurant. I don't know why but that is the thought that popped into my head as I was laying it down. Anyway, its a big step up from what was there before so that makes me happy. :-)
