Summer Days Drifting Away

Just spent the last four days Wed - Sat up at a place that my parents rented in Naples, Maine. They had a place on Brandy Pond up in the Sebago lakes region. Everytime I go to Maine, be it Ogonquit for the Beach, Acadia for the Mountains or now Naples for the lake I really do buy into the Maine slogan 'The way life should be'. Mom, Dad, Kathy, Brian, and Lance were there as well as Kim and her kids for the first few days. Then came the irish folks (JP, Nick, Sinead, Connor, Rachel) and the Sires (Theresa, Sam, Jeff, Earl Sr & Jr). It was a rare treat to be lazing away on a lake for three days surrounded by great company. I just love it every summer visiting with my cousins who I don't see as often as I would like.

Jeffrey Sougnez (my dad) is becoming an accomplished captain and picking up the subtle art that is driving the boat while whipping around kids on a tube or me on Skiis while not hitting any other boats or hidden rocks under the lake. Jeannie Sougnez (my mom) was playing the part of a doting grandmother to a T. We are all so happy to see Lance doing so well and Kathy looking to happy to be with her little son.

All in all I had a great time. I even managed to get enough sun exposure so that I don't look like I've been living like a hobbit anymore.

Ok thats enough for now. Enjoy the photos of our Maine vacation.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD Lance Michael Archibalt
Yesterday morning was surreal. Kathy delivered her much anticipated baby at 8:20 on 7/8/05. He was a big one: 8lbs 13ounces.
I was picked up by Brian's sister jill (pictured a few photos below) at like 7:45 in the morning. I stayed at Kathy and Brians place in CT the night before. We arrived at the hospital and nervousness and anticipation was flowing free from the group of family waiting in the wings. My parents were there, and brians parents and the two aunt's to be Jill and I. Sometime around 8:45 or so Brian comes out into the hall and though it took him a few seconds to get it out... he said .. its a Boy! We are all so psyched for Kathy, Brian and Baby Lance. I'm a proud aunt already. Happy Birthday Lance. Perhaps someday you will be reading this blog and you will realize how much everyone already loves you. Posted by Picasa

Brian was so emotional it took him a few seconds to finally tell us it was a Boy! Posted by Picasa

Elisabeth Quirback Arrives

Welcome to the world Elisabeth Quirbach. What a cutie you are. Born 7/5/05 in the early morning hours. Posted by Picasa I was lucky enough to be able to visit andrea, Lizzie (not sure if I'm allowed to call her that) and her mom in the hospital on thursday. Andrea's mom and mine have been friends since the two of us were babies and I all I could think of while I was holding Andrea's Baby was how a whole new genereation is truly with us now. Anticipating that my sister would deliver her baby tomorrow I was so happy to be holding Andrea's new baby girl.

With our last day in Seattle we went to a game at Safeco Field. Marriners vs Texas Rangers, the home team lost but it was a fun time anyway. Posted by Picasa
